The long-term perspective

Why Professional Integration Matters

Beyond formal eligibility

A successful international hire is more than a qualified candidate.

01 / FOUNDATION

Qualifications establish the foundation

Academic qualifications, clinical experience and Dutch-language proficiency establish essential foundations for employment.

They do not, on their own, reveal how an individual may respond to unfamiliar workplace expectations, professional correction, uncertainty, pressure or the personal realities of international relocation.

02 / WORKPLACE

Integration requires more

For healthcare employers, the objective is not simply to fill a vacancy. It is to welcome a professional who can contribute responsibly, integrate into the team, adapt to the Dutch healthcare environment and build a sustainable career.

03 / PREPARATION

Preparation creates visibility

Hexallt approaches preparation with this longer-term objective in mind.

We seek to identify important integration-related strengths and vulnerabilities before recruitment, address development needs through structured preparation, and provide employers with more meaningful information about a candidate's readiness.

THE INTENDED OUTCOME
Readiness before recruitment
Meaningful workplace integration
Sustainable professional careers
VIARA / Behavioural readiness

Understanding Readiness Beyond Qualifications

Professional integration begins with understanding the individual.

VIARA — Vocational Integration And Role Adaptability Assessment is Hexallt's structured, scenario-based assessment of behavioural readiness for an international professional transition.

Rather than relying on general statements of motivation or adaptability, VIARA examines how candidates reason through professional and relocation-related situations, including changing demands and conditions of pressure.

It assesses four connected dimensions:

01PROFESSIONAL

Professional Judgement

How a candidate approaches safety-sensitive decisions, task priorities, responsibility boundaries, error ownership and escalation.

02COMMUNICATION

Communication and Learning

How a candidate interprets instructions, explains reasoning, identifies misunderstandings, seeks clarification and adjusts communication when the first approach is insufficient.

03CULTURAL

Workplace and Cultural Navigation

How a candidate responds to feedback, understands unfamiliar organisational expectations, navigates hierarchy and maintains appropriate independent judgement.

04MOTIVATIONAL

Relocation Commitment and Resilience

How a candidate approaches long-term professional commitment, practical relocation realities, difficult adjustments and continued development through setbacks.

VIARA examines not only the quality of individual responses, but also the consistency of behavioural reasoning across changing scenarios.

This helps distinguish patterns that appear well established from those that become conditional or less reliable under particular pressures.

The purpose is not to label individuals. It is to understand their readiness, identify development priorities and support a better-informed professional transition.
Decision-relevant evidence

From Assessment Findings to Employer Decisions

Evidence that can inform preparation, selection and onboarding.

VIARA's employer assessment report translates completed, governed assessment findings into information relevant to professional integration.

Depending on the candidate's assessment evidence, the report describes:

  • 01Established behavioural strengths.
  • 02Areas where reasoning or adaptability becomes less consistent under particular conditions.
  • 03Important matters requiring clarification before recruitment or relocation.
  • 04Preparation priorities and considerations for early workplace onboarding.

This gives employers a more individualised understanding of a candidate beyond qualifications, work experience and language certificates.

For Hexallt, the same findings provide a foundation for targeted preparation. An identified development need can be addressed before the candidate enters the employer-selection process.

For employers, findings can inform follow-up discussions, expectation-setting and individualised induction planning.

The preparation challenge

The Challenges Behind International Healthcare Hiring

Recruiting healthcare professionals from India involves more than identifying qualified candidates. Suitability assessment, language preparation, examination access and professional recognition all present challenges.

01

Candidate Suitability

The Challenge

Academic qualifications and clinical experience alone cannot establish a candidate's professional judgement, cultural adaptability, learning readiness or long-term commitment.

Our Solution

VIARA

Our structured, scenario-based assessment evaluates professional, cultural, language-learning and motivational readiness, helping identify suitability signals and development needs before progression.

02

Language & Cultural Readiness

The Challenge

Access to qualified Dutch-language trainers, consistent teaching quality and structured learning remains a challenge. Candidates must also prepare for Dutch workplace communication and cultural expectations.

Our Solution

Hexallt Language Academy

A structured Dutch-language curriculum with one-on-one, trainer-led instruction, guided practice, continuous correction and progressive assessments.

230+Lessons
1,300+Micro-lessons
9,800+Audio files
1,300+Planned concept videos5–15 min each

Our learning method combines concept videos, repeated listening, reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation practice, recorded assignments, learner self-review and individual trainer feedback.

Dutch cultural awareness and healthcare workplace expectations are integrated into language learning.

03

Language Examination Access

The Challenge

The CNaVT examination, an established overseas Dutch-language certification route, is held only once a year. This limits examination opportunities and can delay candidates who are otherwise ready to progress.

Our Solution

Expanded Examination Access

We are implementing an additional B1 examination route through ETC Jakarta, with five planned examination sessions annually and capacity for 25 candidates per session.

5Sessions / year
25Places / session
125Planned annually

The examination frequency and annual capacity may be expanded in the coming years.

This will provide additional opportunities beyond the annual CNaVT examination for candidates following the VIG recognition pathway.

04

Professional Recognition

The Challenge

Dutch professional recognition requires extensive documentation, correct certification and regulatory assessment. Missing or incorrectly prepared documents can delay progression. Separate VIG and Registered Nurse recognition procedures add further complexity.

Our Solution

Authorised Recognition Coordination

CIBG has confirmed that Hexallt can act as an authorised intermediary for VIG applicants and arrange pre-submission document checks.

VIG

DOCUMENT COORDINATION

We prepare candidate dossiers in advance, coordinate their completeness review with CIBG and address identified documentation issues before formal submission.

RN

PARALLEL PROFESSIONAL PATHWAY

In parallel, we prepare the Registered Nurse recognition dossier and initiate the RN procedure once the necessary requirements are met, allowing candidates to progress towards the BI examination and subsequent BIG registration after arriving in the Netherlands.

Long-term integration

Sustainable Integration Is a Shared Responsibility

Prepared professionals. Supportive workplaces. Sustainable careers.

HEXALLT'S CONTRIBUTION

Readiness before employment

Hexallt's preparation model focuses on the candidate's readiness before international employment.

We assess professional and behavioural readiness, support the development of language and cultural capabilities, clarify professional-role expectations and help candidates prepare for the realities of relocation.

EMPLOYER'S CONTRIBUTION

A workplace that supports integration

Employers provide the workplace conditions in which that preparation can become meaningful professional practice: appropriate induction, supervision, clear responsibilities, constructive feedback, team inclusion and opportunities for career development.

Both contributions matter.

Our long-term objective is to support professional integration that remains meaningful beyond the initial hiring decision.

We believe that identifying and addressing preventable mismatches before recruitment, combined with supportive employer onboarding, creates a stronger foundation for sustainable international healthcare careers.

Better-informed selection.More intentional integration.Sustainable professional development.

For healthcare employers & recruitment partners

Preparation aligned with real workplace needs.

Who we work with

Hexallt welcomes collaboration with Dutch healthcare organisations and established recruitment partners seeking internationally qualified professionals who are prepared for more than the formal requirements of employment.

What preparation makes visible

Our preparation model can help employers understand how candidates are assessed, what developmental work has been undertaken, and which professional-integration considerations may deserve attention.

Our role and service boundary

Hexallt Abroad operates as a preparatory service provider, not a recruitment agency.

Our role is to assess and develop candidates’ readiness for international professional integration through VIARA, language education, cultural preparation and professional-recognition support.

Yes, where an authorised report is available and the candidate has consented to its disclosure.

The VIARA Employer Assessment Report provides structured findings across professional judgement, communication and learning, workplace and cultural navigation, and relocation commitment and resilience.

It identifies established behavioural strengths, areas requiring clarification and relevant preparation or onboarding considerations.

The report supports informed evaluation but does not replace an employer's independent selection process.

04What preparation do candidates undertake before approaching employers?

Hexallt's preparation pathway begins with VIARA, which helps identify behavioural readiness and areas requiring development.

Depending on individual requirements and progression, candidates undertake structured Dutch-language learning, cultural and workplace preparation, relevant language examinations and professional-recognition documentation activities.

Preparation follows individual progress rather than a single fixed schedule. Completion of particular stages is documented, and outstanding requirements remain clearly identified.

05How are Dutch-language certification and professional recognition handled?

Hexallt Language Academy provides structured Dutch-language training. Formal language examinations and certification are conducted by independent examination providers.

For healthcare professionals pursuing the Netherlands pathway, Hexallt provides documentation preparation and coordination support for the applicable Verzorgende IG (VIG) and Registered Nurse (RN) recognition processes.

These are separate recognition pathways. Formal decisions remain with the competent Dutch authorities, and subsequent assessments or registration requirements may apply.

Hexallt does not issue language certificates, professional recognition decisions or BIG registrations.

06Who manages candidate selection, employment contracts and visa sponsorship?

Candidates apply directly to employers or authorised recruitment organisations.

Employers independently manage interviews, selection, employment offers, contracts, workplace arrangements and applicable sponsorship responsibilities.

Hexallt may provide separately agreed candidate-facing documentation, preparation and relocation-process guidance, but does not act as an employer, recruitment agency or immigration decision-maker.

07Can Hexallt's preparation model accommodate specific workplace expectations?

Employers are welcome to share the professional, communication and workplace expectations associated with their healthcare environment.

Where appropriate and within the available preparation scope, these requirements may inform candidate guidance, expectation-setting and relevant learning or development activities.

This allows Hexallt to better understand the working environment candidates are preparing to enter, while employers retain responsibility for role-specific competency assessment, induction and workplace supervision.

Information-sharing of overseas vacancies is subject to applicable legal requirements; Hexallt does not undertake recruitment or placement activities.
