Start Your Nursing Career in Finland: A Gateway to European Healthcare

You will go to Finland as a student for a one-year ‘Nursing Top-up Degree’ at Arcada University of Applied Sciences. The degree awarded is a Bachelor of Healthcare [Nursing], valid across the European Union. Simultaneously, you will begin your hospital internship within 45–60 days of arrival, earning a monthly stipend of €2,250–€2,700 (~₹2+ lakhs INR). After completing the program, you will be absorbed into a hospital with a starting salary of €3,500+ monthly.

Academic Eligibility & Language Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc Nursing or GNM

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years

  • Language: English-medium schooling, IELTS 5.0–7.0 / TOEFL iBT 65–90

  • Finnish Level: A2 certification required before departure

  • Age/Gender Restrictions: No gender restriction, age limit 55 years.

Interview & Application

Eligible candidates will have an online English interview, conducted by Arcada’s authorized center in India. We assist with document verification and application submission.

Conditional Offer Letter Requirements

  • Pre-Admission Course: Online, recorded content, completed in 2 months.

  • Finnish Classes: 2 hours, 2 days/week. Attendance is mandatory.

  • Language Proficiency Proof: Submit certificate or undergo interview clearance.

Offer Letter Acceptance & Final Clearance

Once conditions are fulfilled, a Letter of Acceptance valid for one year will be issued. Finnish language proficiency will be reassessed before final clearance for visa.

VISA Application

We assist with the visa application. You must visit Delhi for your interview. A 3-year visa is issued to accommodate additional Finnish training if needed beyond the 1-year course.

Activities & Processes in Finland

  1. Arrival & Temporary Accommodation: Provided for 2 weeks (cost borne by student)

  2. Permanent Housing: Helped by hospital; shared housing is common and economical

  3. Class Commencement: Two weeks of hospital system orientation and training

  4. Practical Training: Two weeks of hospital-based hands-on learning

  5. Unpaid Internship: Two-week internship for real-world exposure

  6. Paid Internship: Begins post unpaid internship, with stipend as stated above

  7. Continuous Evaluation: Based on credit performance throughout the year

  8. Finnish B1 Training: Continues in Finland with 2-hour sessions twice weekly

Academic Structure at Arcada

Each student will receive a personalized learning plan. Coursework includes:

  • Finnish Nursing Competencies

  • Finnish Nursing Practice

  • Practical Training in Finnish Hospitals

  • Online + On-campus lectures, reading, workshops, simulations

  • Class Schedule: 2 days/week, 2 hours/class

Program Completion & Licensing

Upon completing studies, internship, and B1 Finnish level, you will:

  • Be awarded the EU-recognized Bachelor of Healthcare [Nursing]

  • Be absorbed into full-time employment with the hospital

  • Become eligible to register with Valvira, Finland’s official healthcare authority

Once registered, your salary as a Registered Nurse begins at €3,250+ monthly.

Family Visa & Employment

Finland allows students and professionals to bring their family under liberal visa policies. Spouses can work without restrictions. The relationship must be legally recognized.
